This is not related to Sweden or our wedding, but I’ll post it anyway.
If you’re anything like me, that is, you’re affected by the full moon, then keep your eyes peered tonight, as it’s a supermoon tonight! Meaning the full moon is 356,955 kilometers away from our planet, the closest this year.
I will never forget that one night when I was little, perhaps 6 or 7, we were at, what was then our ‘sommarstuga’ (holiday house) for the weekend (it later became our permanent home), and it was a spring evening and the moon was climbing up from behind the mountain and the trees. It was so big it looked like it was about to roll over the trees and straight into our house, it really was quite spectacular. I think this is the moment that got me fascinated of the moon, or perhaps the fact that my mum, my grandmother on my mum’s side and my great grandmother always claimed to be affected by the full moon. Maybe they were just imagining things I used to think, but now I feel it too, maybe I’m imagining it too, maybe it’s superstition, fascination or maybe I’m just a werewolf.
Anyway, I’m hoping for a clear sky tonight so that I can gaze at the supermoon. If you’re lucky enough to catch it, give it an extra look (howling is optional).
